VOGUE
It’s a family business: Following the successful steps of his wife, Victoria, David Bechkam decided along with his partner Simon Fuller to launch his debut collection – a range of men’s bodywear comprising underwear and relaxed separates and a special fragrance-called Homme-as well. “The push to do something of my own, really came as a result of my collaboration with Armani”, he admitted. And he continues “I can’t wait to show people the collection – although I’m not sure my mum will be too happy seeing a billboard image of me in underwear again.”
The most precious: Giuseppe Zanotti collaborated with Chopard as to create a unique pair of diamond encrusted, satin heels, to be worn at Cannes Film Festival by Anja Rubik. At the same time, he also created a pair of matching rose gold, pink sapphire and diamond hoop earrings sharing the same philosophy with the shoes that are made of 22 carats of diamonds, 134 carats of rubellites and 199 carats of pink sapphires. Both items will be auctioned at amfAR’s Cinema against AIDS gala.
For ever friends: Kate Moss is reportedly marrying Jamie Hince in July and her friend Naomi Cambell is rumored to become Kate’s bridesmaid! “I am so proud of Kate. I love Jamie and I can’t wait for the wedding. Jamie’s such a nice guy, he’s the one for her. It’s going to be an amazing day and I’m on the phone with her all the time.”she said. The two girls have known each other since they were teenagers whereas recently they walked together in in Louis Vuitton’s fetish-inspired show in February. But don’t you worry as “We’ll still party, even though Kate’s getting married, I don’t think that will change us”, Naomi insisted!
ELLE
Young and wanted: 14-year-old True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld is the new face of Miu Miu, as the fashion house officially announced. Miucia Prada must be so excited by the way the upcoming actress wore her tangerine and bubblegum-striped Prada dress at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January as well as her red carpet triumph by wearing Miu Miu’s S/S ’11 swan dress to the Berlin Film Festival and a sheer beaded dress by the label to the BAFTAs that she invited her to attend the Miu Miu show in Paris and that was probably the start of this brand new collaboration. Nothing is yet confirmed by the brand; however Steinfeld’s stylist Karla Welch stated clearly that “Miu Miu is such a perfect fit for her. Throughout awards season, they were the dresses she wanted to wear”.
Abercrombie a Paris at last: And what a more common way for the brand to celebrate the opening of its new flagship store in the French capital than by creating a parade of 101 shirtless male models down the fashion avenue of Champs Elysees! Professional qualifications including six-packs and bright white teeth brought the men to the pavement outside the store entrance. Just to warn you: if you are passing by the Champs Élysées anytime over the next year and think you’ve spotted shirtless men, you’re not dreaming. The new store apparently plans to keep topless guys on staff through its inaugural year! Oh la la mademoiselles!
IN STYLE
H&M goes plus size: Tara Lynn, a plus-sized model who has also worked for Bloomingdale’s, Nordstom and Forever21′s Faith21 line, and recently stripped down for the French issue of Elle magazine is the new face of H&M’s BIB collection (“Big is Beautiful”) and poses wearing the brand’s swimwear. She shows off a tankini, a leopard-print bathing suit, summer frocks, a caftan and more. It is a quite wise move by the well-known brand that will surely attract a new and quite wide target group.
Derek Lam for everyone: Derek Lam is launching a new clothing line under the name “10 Crosby Derek Lam” in a lower price and in a more casual style. “After the tough economic times, there definitely is a customer looking for fashion with an accessible reach, but considered in a fresh manner,” Lam told WWD. The collection,, that will be out in November, will include jersey fabrics and soft tailoring in 10 Crosby and prices will run from $195 to $895.
HARPERS BAZAAR
A Carat* shines at Harrods: You will surely have noticed some amazing jewelers that Serena and Blair are constantly wearing at the set of GG. Under the name CARAT*, in 2003 Scott Thompson designed the CARAT* collections inspired by his own fantasy with great precision and careful attention to detail. CARAT* collections feature classic styles as well as more contemporary designs that you will see at Harrods along with an exquisite limited-edition run of just ten man-made emerald and diamond ring and earring sets in sterling silver with a six 6 carat hand-crafted emerald stone that Thompson designed as to celebrate his collaboration with the english department store. FASHION TELEGRAPH
I’ll have some skimmed…prada for breakfast!: The label debuts two new styles from its Minimal-Baroque sunglasses collection with a surreal campaign that puts them in weird and funny settings. The collection was initially launched in January and this month the brand decided to re-launch two of its models by slightly differentiate them. At the picture above, Mattia Buffoli imagined a “face” crafted from the contents of a bowl of cereal and Prada’s sunglasses –the ideal fashion breakfast!
