You know summer is over the minute the first pre-fall collections appear in the windows of every store that respect oneself. It’s usually odd to see and feel winter clothes when outside the sun is still up and shining, but in a strange way, winter clothes at this time of the year, make the whole transition a lot… lighter.

This season Mad Men devotees and 60′s lovers are going to have a blast dressing up. Fashion has once again turning into circles and our beloved decade is going to shine.

Dresses and skirts length is strictly a few inches below the knee, hemlines are tight but elegant, waists are high and thin while shoes are edgier with smaller heels. Forget that 70′s frenzy where all shoes were wooden and huge, pants were wide legged and denim. 2011-2012 winter is all about elegance, femininity and subliminal seduction.

This trend is indefinitely lead by fashion’s high-end houses, such as Chloé, Dior, Celine, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel and Balenciaga.Floral and ethereal prints are switched with wool, crepe, and leather fabrics, clutches and kitten heels, capes and long woolen coats are the leading must’s to open the winter season.
