Knee socks: art you can wear
After moving to freezing North America I gained a whole new perspective on warm clothes – especially warm clothes that look nice on you, are feminine and cool (well, more like hot). So, you can call Sweet Marcel knee socks an answer to my prayers.
Their Texan designer, Amy Anderson, makes only limited quantities of every model, so once it’s sold out, it’s gone forever, something that makes me feel quite unique in this crazy era of mass production. It’s wearable art, made ethically, priced reasonably and destined to keep us alive –and stylish—during the winter.
And if you’re a Project Runway fan, you’ll be happy to know that Amy recently collaborated with Shirin Askari (season 6), with whom they share studio space, and the result was two more amazing pairs of black and white Sweet Marcel artsy socks.
On the website you’ll find a link with stores that carry them, some with online shopping. It’s our new winter uniform.
