Flower Power
Did you actually think that summer would come and we wouldn’t refer to flowers? No way. This year, as always, great designers and brands found the most fabulous floral prints to show us that even though nothing in this world “blooms”, nature does not make the same mistakes we do and still gives us beauty along with small doses of optimism!
Designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Stella Mc Cartney, Dolce&Gabbana, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior reflect this philoshophy. Each one of them, based on their personal style, gave us the best prints for this season which was a tickle to us so to buy at least one floral piece of clothing. Jumpsuits with punk details on belts and army boots, are ideal for you if you are a subversive kind of type. Clean lined deux pieces, full of floral and fruit prints, by Stella McCartney, ethereal, silk maxi dresses with splits by Louis Vuitton, midi prom dresses, with large floral prints and blazers to match, mixed with leather leggings by Chanel, extremeley mini summer dresses and also maxi hippie chic dresses, by Dolce&Gabbana and last but not least, very sexy, silk – or other expensive fabrics - “pin up girl” jumpsuits by Dior!

Just take a look at these photos and you will find the look that suits you best, according to your personal style and on how much “floral” you want to look this summer. For the more conservative ones, especially because that is what your job demands, match a straight lined floral dress with a sinlge colour blazer (“must” for this season as we have mentioned before), such as white which matches with anything. If you want to feel comfortable and “safety” in your clothes, choose a floral jumpsuit. For those of you who love retro, go buy a 50′s midi dress and it will be as if you jumped out of a retro lookbook. You will achieve the same effect if you choose a playsuit combined with heeled sandals or even platforms and have your hair done retro style (see Dior pic). That will definitely keep all mens’ eyes stuck on you, since “pin up girls” always drive men crazy. For those of you who love hippie chic style, wear ethereal, floral, maxi dresses mixed with lots of wood bangles and sandals or platforms. If you are afraid of prints and especially floral, do not worry, because we have another solution for you. Choose a floral straw clutch, put a flower on your hair – the best summer hairdo is a tress – and finish your look with 2 large boutonnieres on your platforms (you will find them in sewing stores, at extremely low prices), letting Dolce and Gabbana wonder how you managed to copy their look so succesfully. No matter what is your style, dare to put flowers on you and help yourself and your lost optimism bloom even for a while!
