Evihan on Etsy
The Etsy shop that we present you this week comes from Turkey! Kristin Evihan has graduated from the Beykoz glass making school and opened her own shop in Çukurcuma!
She not only works glass and silver together in her own atelier but she also creates angels, each with their own unique character. Of her peers, she is the only one using traditional methods to make something completely different and unique!
What we’re talking about are her fairy glass creatures! Winged angels, flamenco dancers, babies, French court ladies, fat housewives, men in ties and clown are some of her creations! As well as combining glass and silver, she also designs very original settings for her angels, like rings, earrings and necklaces. Some of the materials that she uses are: Moretti glass, amethyst, onyx and pearl and the tecnique that she uses
In her own words:
“This is Kristin from Istanbul…During my annual vacation I searched for glass Courses on the net ..and I found out www.glassfurnace.org ..as soon as I saw the article about glass education ..I decided to take Glass Bead Making course…I spent all my annual leave there…and as soon as I finished the course I resigned from my last job and I rent my shop/atelier in Cukurcuma/Cihangir area in 2003..and I started designing my jewels…I am also designing my silver pieces matching with my lampworked glass pieces….here is my oficial web site: http://www.evihan.com . I love to feel the freedom while designing…mixing colors…giving shapes in over 1000c degree.
I found ETSY in 2008…I did not open my shop at that time…I was just a buyer…1 year later I decided to open my own ETSY shop…I met with other great designers from all over the world including Istanbul and Turkey…. I am also a member of a European Street Team…they always encourage me…try to answer all my questions..happy to know all of them…

Lampworked glass ladybird bracelet is in great tone of transparent GREEN color… Italian Leather in black color…All the metal parts are 925 silver…the size of the ladybugs and the bracelet may vary…please ask if you need any other size…
All beads are carefully hand made by Evihan at her studio in Istanbul and examined for imperfections before being used.
