Maybe he doesn’t have the classic figure of a star- designer and he’s already in the sixth decade of his life but nowadays his name is synonym to the “Oscars”.
Stuart Weitzman began to design shoes for his father’s business, when he was only 20 years old, from whom he also learned the actual industry.
Stuart Weitzman’s company was created when the American designer inherited his father’s shoe factory.
He used to be close to all of the production’s steps, from the design till the concoction of the shoe, that’s why until today he usually spends half of his day overseeing his factories in Spain. And that’s exactly what makes Stuart’s shoes to be different.
“I design shoes to make women happy”, he reports.
Thirty years now he carries the label of luxury, as in the sound of his name only two words come to our mind… comfort and luxury.
At the same time there are so many the points in which he outnumbers as his sense of humour gives to his drawings this unique playful feeling, knowing that a woman wants always to feel beautiful. 
His shoes have been featured from 1986 in thousands of magazines, movies as well in Oscars and Grammy awards.
Among his thousands fans are counted Angelina Jolie, Eva Mendes, Eva Longoria and Kate Winslet.
Nowadays Stuart creates 600 designs annually from sport shoes till sandals and he chooses to use luxurious and unusual material like corkwood, bamboo, precious stones, 24karats gold etc.
From New York to Milan and from Paris to Beijing, the company has established its international presence, even though New York comprises the perfect background for the designer’s style.
From the Fall/Winter 2009/2010 collection they couldn’t be out the over the knee boots, leopard booties, high heels and moccasins-flats.
