Shop of the week: Selavy

Outside the center of Athens, in a quiet and beautiful suburb, we found SELAVY. Where? At Voula. No, I’m not joking! It was a truly a nice experience!

I had never ‘entered’ the center of Voula, since I was always passing by on my way to Glyfada or Athens. Parking easily was a pleasant surprise. I was also surprised by the fact that people are much more relaxed and calm than in Athens, that the ladies were very elegant… and because SELAVY is different!

Its owner, Anastasia Dossidou, is clever, open-hearted, very friendly and eager to help you make the best choices. She lived for many years in Bologna where she studied Pharmaceutics and used to meet various artists and intellectuals in the town’s famous hang-outs; one of them was called Bistro Selavy where she met daily Umberto Eco.

Although she studied Pharmaceutics, her biggest love was and still is fashion! So, in 2002, she decided to open SELAVY.

It seems that fashion is in Anastasia’s… DNA since her mother had a clothes store at Alexandroupoli and her sister owns SELAVY, at Ekali.

Let’s go back to SELAVY, at Voula, where you can find clothes and accessories from many famous brands such as: Missoni, Fendi, Tricot Chic, Pianura Studio, Liu Jo, Caractère, Naughty Dog, RoccoBarocco, Vogue by Paschali, Maria Glenster, Elena Miro’. The truth is that I enjoy shopping from stores where I can find pieces from various brands, because I can make combinations and find the best ones.

Apart from the above brands, SELAVY also sells GREVI Firenze, that creates hand-made hats since 1875. This small factory continues making hats in the same traditional way and, therefore, the hats’ quality and “personality” stand out!

Anastasia already sells many women’s and men’s GREVI hats, but soon new hats will arrive and – you have to believe me! – they’ re fantastic because they combine classic style with modern.
