Must-have Accessories

Accessories are the most basic pieces of a woman’s closet. They are the items that can offer style to an outfit that otherwise might look dull. And what are these? Belts, jewelry, handbags, hats, shoes and stockings.

Belts

This season, belts are a must-have; especially wide ones. Due to the 30s-40s trend, belts are essential and are worn high on the waist. This style is as chic and smart as it can get for all body types. Adopt it without thinking of it twice (Dolce&Gabbana, Sportmax, Loewe)!

Jewelry

This season, jewelry is huge! Necklaces with big balls hiding the neck and giving a glamorous look and feeling even to the simplest tops. Bracelets and rings are very big, too. The only thing you have to keep in mind when wearing them is to tighten up your hair to give a lighter look to your appearance (Lanvin, Chanel, Max Mara, Marni).

Hats

Hats come in different version this season. Berets reminding of the 40s (Dolce&Gabbana, Sportmax); hats inspired from 60s futurism (Narcisio Rodriguez); funny and eccentric inspired from the 80s (Louis Vuitton) and classic one either with velvet or fur (Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Loewe, Burberry Prorsum).

Shoes

Shoes are divided into two categories. This winter’s absolute statement is go-go boots (Louis Vuitton, Gucci). For the evenings, bags have very vivid colors, geometrical patterns and clutches are small and from luxurious fabrics (Dolce&Gabbana, Lanvin, Marc Jacobs, Victor&Rolf, Valentino)!

Stockings

Stockings are a fashion statement themselves; bright colors, stripes, plaid, pied de coq, black opaque and transparent blacks with or without seams, laces are just a few to mention. More female, chic and sexier than ever (Marni, Dolce&Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Moschino, Ungaro, 3.1 Phillip Lim).

Dos & Don’ts

Dos: Say “Yes!” to everything but “No” to exaggeration! One by one each time! You have a whole winter to wear all of your accessories!
Don’ts: If you don’t have thin legs, avoid stockings with stripes, plaid, pied de coq and prints. Black opaque are a safe and chic choice!
