Etsy: New way of shopping!

Are you looking for handmade jewels or a hand knit hat? Before you visit the nearest fashion street and buy the first thing that you see, you should first visit Etsy.com. Etsy was launched in 2005 as a forum to buy and sell handmade items. It’s an e-commerce site such as eBay, but users say it operates more like a craft fair rather than an online “garage sale.”
It is a website with thousands of handmade products sold by people from all over the world. The variety and the quality of products give a competitive advantage among its competitors. These handmade items are unique and the prices tend to be reasonable since you buy directly from artists and crafters. Moreover, in order to avoid shipping costs you can choose sellers near to you. There are 250,000 sellers and over 4 million of items listed. Although items on Etsy are sold, not auctioned, its business model is similar to Ebay’s: Etsy collects a listing fee of 20 cents and a 3.55% commission on each item sold.
The online crafts market, initially built on sales of toys and dolls, has shifted to clothing and shoes and saw a sudden rise in its sales. Every single piece comes out from the fantasy and passion of its creator, who, in most cases, crafting is their hobby. However, there are also designers who set up their own e-shops on Etsy.
Every seller has their own shop inside Etsy with its own policy. When entering the shop, the visitor can find information about the seller/creator such as location, rating by previous buyers etc.
Searching Etsy is quite simple. Register and click the “BUY” button. Then, you can choose the product you are looking for with the help of 10 criteria. The easiest method is finding through the 33 “Categories”, selecting by “Color” or searching the “Gift Guide” and “Shop Local”. You can also find an item made under request since Etsy has a feature allowing users to post a request for a custom-made item and crafters can bid on the project.
Buying handmade items could be a good solution to get a unique product at a reasonable price and, perhaps, a conscious decision to shop in order to help people work on what they love, while preferring one of a kind item instead of something massively produced.

Ηταν μια ευχαριστη εκπληξη να διαβαζω επιτελους ενα αρθρο για το Etsy στα ελληνικα .Ειναι καιρος και οι Ελληνες να μπουν στον κοσμο του handmade και να αφησουν λιγο τα τυποποιημενα.
Στο Etsy θα βρει κανείς πολλά ταλέντα μεζεμένα, όπου τα δημιουργήματα τους ανταποκρίνονται σε όλα τα γούστα.
Είναι δύσκολο να μπεις στο Εtsy για μια “ματιά” και να μην ψωνίσεις!!! Πόσο μάλλον όταν ξέρεις πως ό,τι βλέπεις εκεί είναι μοναδικό, εφόσοσον είναι χ-ε-ι-ρ-ο-π-ο-ί-η-τ-ο και θα έρθει κατευθείαν στην πόρτα σου χωρίς να ταλαιπωρηθείς καθόλου!!!
Είμαι πολύ περήφανη που είμαι κι εγώ μέλος της ελληνικής ομαδας στο Εtsy.

Χάρηκα πολύ γι’αυτό το mail.Αξίζει η προβολή του ETSY.Υπάρχουν πολλοί καλλιτέχνες, που κάνουν πράγματα μοναδικά, που δεν βρίσκει κανείς αλλού και- για διάφορους λόγους- δεν έχουν πρόσβαση στην αγορά.

Πολυ χαίρομαι που επιτέλους ανήκω κι εγώ στην ομάδα του etsy, αν και είμαι ίσως το ποιο καινόυργιο μέλος…. Το etsy έχει πραγματικούς θησαυρούς !!!!! Και εγω προτιμω το Dawanda.com που ειναι ευρωπαικο site, ειναι πιο καινουργιο απο το etsy, αλλα μπορεις να βρεις καταπληκτικα πραγματα. Επισης πληρωνεις μονο μετα την πωληση και οχι οταν ‘ανεβαζεις’ αντικειμενα στο μαζαζι σου.
