The house Burberry which is based in Milan announced its 2010 spring collection show in London, home of the house, in order to be part of the celebrations of the 25 years of London Fashion Week and the British Fashion Council.
New Yorker Headquarters
Besides the London “return”, the house opened its new headquarters in Manhattan, New York and lit up the New York sky with three neon signs- 50 foot each – at the top of the -68.000 square foot building – at 444 Madison Avenue.
Burberry Day
The most unbelievable of all, however, is the proclamation from the mayor of New York the 28th of May as official Burberry Day. I have to admit I am a huge fan of Brit style and this particular house, but that Burberry Day thing is way f my way of thinking. However mayor should me congratulated for his absolute sense of style and fashion.
New York-London
The New York headquarters mirror the London HQ, both of which are designed by the Creative Director of Burberry, Cristopher Bailey, who worked on the British origins of the house and used heavy wood for the interior decoration and monochrome.
Fun Tip
The Burberry sign is one of six in the city of New York that are exempted from the strict building signage laws of the city. The other five are the insurance company Metlife, the General Electric, the Financial Times, the financial giant UBS and Citibank.
